Pam Fox has an academic background as a social historian, having studied for a PhD at the London School of Economics. After a career in local and then central government, for the last 12 years she has been working as a full-time author and researcher. She has written seven social history books under her own name and the same number of autobiographies as a ghost writer. Each of her books has involved a substantial amount of genealogical and oral history research.

In between writing, Pam has carried out family history research for many clients, which have often been drawn together in detailed narratives, illustrated with photos and family trees and containing relevant contextual information. She is particularly experienced in researching the ancestors of people who migrated to the UK and elsewhere from across the globe.

Pam frequently gives talks and runs workshops on family and social history topics, such as sources for family history and how to conduct oral history interviews.

Pam lives on the south coast close to good road and rail networks and is therefore able to travel to most parts of the UK.

Elissa Aldous-Hughes is an experienced genealogist specialising in British research. Since completing her degree in history and starting her genealogy business in 2016, she has helped dozens of clients across Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia to discover their family roots.

Elissa researches and writes in-depth, multi-generational family biographies, while also taking on a variety of other projects, including tracing lost family and friends, researching house histories, tracing military records, troubleshooting clients’ own research, and on one occasion, assisting in researching an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? Some of her favourite cases have involved discovering a client’s connection to a suspected Edwardian murderer, and helping three adoptees discover their birth families after a lifetime of searching.

Alongside her research, Elissa also works extensively as a family tree designer, creating customised trees of all sizes. Her designs can be found published within several private biographies and displayed in her clients’ homes.

Pam & Elissa have collaborated on a wide range of genealogical projects, which have benefitted from their complementary skills and expertise. Working in partnership. they are able to cover a broad variety of research avenues simultaneously, providing a faster and more comprehensive service. Pam & Elissa's combined wealth of expertise allows them to pool their varied problem-solving resources together to offer fresh eyes, new ideas, and innovative solutions to solve otherwise intractable research road blocks.
